〰️ With fires ravaging our country and water more precious than ever given we are in a drought, we can all help to conserve and save water.

70% of the water consumed in Sydney is residential use. Those in Sydney use on average 200L per person as compared to the worldwide average use of 50L.

The largest consumption of water? You guessed it, showers.

TIPS TO REDUCE YOUR CONSUMPTION

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➰ Earlier last year I reduced my water use by using a sand timer. It became my own personal challenge. I need to shower, in and out, in under 4 minutes. As a result, short showers have become my normal. If you don’t have a timer then simply pick a song that’s about 3-4minutes and once it’s done playing you know it’s time to jump out.

➰You know that minute or two where you are waiting for your shower to heat up? Pop a bucket or a jug underneath your shower to capture the water, when I started doing this I was so surprised at how much I collected. You can then use that water to water your garden or indoor plants.

➰Turn the shower off while you condition your hair. Most of us leave the shower running whilst we let our conditioners soak in. Instead, try turning off the taps and brushing your teeth or use a body scrub whilst it soaks in.
